At Warren Massage Therapy, we believe in the healing power of touch. Our philosophy is centered around providing a safe and welcoming environment where our clients can receive quality and effective treatment in less time through massage therapy and education.
Your fist session is about 60 min, we will have an exchange of information which will include information about what you will receive, consent, and a hands on portion and follow up.
We describe our approach as a deep tissue treatment.
• Muscle manipulation: The pressure and movements used during a massage can break down knots and adhesions in your muscles, leading to temporary soreness as the tissue repairs itself.
• Inflammation response: Your body naturally responds to muscle manipulation with inflammation, which can manifest as soreness.
• Deep tissue massage: This type of massage often results in more noticeable soreness due to specific pressure applied to the muscles.
• Lack of regular massage: If you don't get massages frequently, your muscles might be less accustomed to the manipulation, leading to more soreness after a session.

• Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps flush out toxins and can alleviate soreness.
• Gentle movement: Light stretching or walking can help your muscles recover.
• Rest: Give your body time to heal by getting adequate sleep.
• Communicate with your therapist: If the soreness is excessive or concerning, discuss your concerns with your massage therapist to adjust the pressure or technique for future sessions.
The good news is that as muscle function improves because of treatment, the pain reduces until it disappears – healthy tissues are not sore to touch, even with deep pressure! To summarise, deep tissue massage treatments do not need to be painful to have worked. However, you are the master of your body.
Explanation
• Lactic acid A metabolic waste product produced during physical activity, lactic acid can cause muscle soreness and fatigue. Massage helps break down and remove lactic acid.
• Uric acid High levels of uric acid can lead to gout. Massage can help release uric acid that has built up in muscles.
• Creatinine A natural by-product of muscle use and strain, creatinine is a biological waste product.
• Cortisol Known as the stress hormone; cortisol can be harmful in high levels. Massage can help reduce cortisol levels.
• Adrenaline Another stress-related hormone, adrenaline can be reduced through massage.
Massage can also stimulate blood and lymphatic circulation, which helps remove these waste products.
